Gutta percha (literally 'gum cloth') is a resin from the Isonandra gutta tree.
Mourning jewelry and baubles such as inkwells, golf balls,
photo cases for Daguerreotypes and frames (like the one pictured below)
were made from gutta percha in the Victoria era. I was searching for
a title for this album of photographs, and my eye wandered
to the gutta percha hand mirror on my dresser. I think the words
gutta percha make a nice rolling sound in your mouth - and
it was either that or cenicienta. Anyhow, this is an accordion bound
book that fits in the palm of your hand, featuring twenty of my more recent
photographs.
