made for traveling, for going away. Perhaps some of the examples pictured
here came from more stationary, humble origins, but these photographs were
taken as part of an exploration of leaving, of ’dressing up’ for the airport.
On July 28, 2004 I boarded a plane at LAX which would eventually lead me from my native Californiato
Providence, Rhode Island.
